Can someone explain the timing marks on the RB25 crank pulley? Are they the same as the SR? 15 degrees btdc is the second mark from the right looking at the motor from the front.

Thanks.- Jay

I believe they are in 10 degree increments with the red one being TDC.

If you turn your engine clockwise it will be the last mark.

Here is what the manual says

-Make sure idle speed is standard value-Make sure ignition timing at engine idle is at standard specification-Make sure ignition advances to correct advance angle when engine is raced

Caution: The 0 degree timing mark on crank pulley is orange and other points are painted white.

The first mark to the left is TDC, all other marks are 5 degrees increments up to 30 degrees.

Thanks guys... I actually found my answer on Skylines Downunder website. The last post is correct.

For anyone that is interested, the harmonic balancer has 7 marks on it, each representing a division of 5 degrees. When you stand facing the car from the front, with the marks facing upwards, the left (drivers side) most mark represents TDC (top dead center) and each mark to the right adds 5 degrees BTDC. (B=before) so the marks go like this....

- - - - - - - TDC 5BTDC 10BTDC 15BTDC 20BTDC 25BTDC 30BTDC
