What is everything on the engine that controls how much fuel it gets and how do i check them to make sure they are working properly?

Thanks,

"The amount of fuel supplied to the engine is determined by the amount of time the fuel injector stays open. This is called the pulse width, and it is controlled by the ECU. " I stole that from here.... http://auto.howstuffworks.com/fuel-inje ... /printable.

Most of the guys won't respond to you if you don't do resarch first. Not trying to be harsh, just trying to inform you. Spend some time researching prior to posting. If you are having a problem with your car try to be more specific as well. You haven't even told us what the problem is. Whats happening with your car? Without you providing us with more information, we have no clue how to even respond. On another note, that link I provided you with will go in depth and explain how your fuel system functions. IMO its a great write up.

If the engine is cold it will take a while to start and will miss for a couple of seconds but if i spray it with carb cleaner it will start right up and run fine. Also if its hot it will start right up and run fine. I have 45 psi fuel pressure and it doesnt leak down. I have checked the MAF, temp sensor and the air Idle control valve and they all work but i dont know what the resistance is suppose to be when checking them. I have done some research and have had no luck finding anyone with the same problem.

Sorry for the lack of information on my last post, thanks for the link.

all that stuff you asked for is easily found in the fsm. voltages for the maf should be about .3v with ign. on engine off, 1v cranking, and 1.1v at idle. voltages/resistance (respectively) for the engine temp sensor are 3v/2.5ohms at 20degrees C and 1v/.3ohms at 80degrees C. and the resistance for the aac valve should be between 9-10ohms.

if you didnt already download the FSM, you should definitely get it because it should have almost any information you need

dont mean to thread jack or anything, sry. when you shorten a wire harness or lengthen the wires, will this raise and drop the voltage? That is what I have heard and always wondered if it was correct. Again, I dont mean to thread jack

For our intents and purposes here, no. you will not affect the voltage or resistance.
(load, resistance, and usable voltage can be changed, but we are not running 500 ft of cable.)

Local guy had the same problem as you and the maf was the culprit.
