from what i can read on the products, mckinney's doesn't need the crossmember from the old R33/skyline, as Syko's does. Yet Syko's says you need it for clearance.

Anyone use either one of these mounts, what do you think about them?

Yes. I am too lazy to fab it and people seem happy with them. Got the transmission crossmember and one-piece drive shaft on order.

Go with the Syko Performance swap package.

The engine sits lower and further back.

The whole swap package was made to be better than the McKinney package.

Oh, that's nice and all... But It still doesn't have anything to do with what the op is talking about.

Um... That STILL doesn't answer what that has to do with the OP.

But way to act like a child about the matter that is at hand.

Congrats.

Congrats on trying to be a smart-*** and calling HIM out on going off topic.

Oh irony.

I simply asked what does Tanner Faust have to do with the OP asking for personal experience.

Guy, you need to adjust your attitude. This kind of stuff seems to ooze from your keyboard more than is acceptable.

What's with the McKinney transmission Crossmember? why is that needed? if it's needed how come i didn't see one for Syko. Anyways I seems like I'll need to flip a coin. I'd go with Syko because it says it sits lower and more back, but so did McKinney. All in all it might come out to who is cheaper.

i have the syko kit. i went with it cuz it sits the engine lower and further back. i believe with mckinney (but i'm not 100% positive) you would have to cut the hood bracing out so the hood will close. syko's engine mounts are also poly urethane and mckinney (from what i remember) is just a solid steel mount. as with the transmission crossmember, you either have to use the R33 or an S13 auto trans crossmember. syko has relocation brackets for the transmission. i ended up using an auto s13 transmission crossmember and just had to slot the holes in the transmission crossmember a little bit. syko addresses the LHD steering shaft with an exhaust elbow that comes off the turbo. this also allows the use of any sr20 downpipe which is kind of convienent. i'm really happy with the syko kit so far, i just have to get this swap finished and i'll really be able to tell when the car is actually running

You dont have to cut the hood with the Mckinney's.When i did my swap,it was like i was putting the KA back in.Yeah it was that easy. Everything bolted right up and i was able to shut the hood the first try with out havening to adjust a thing. Also they do have a poly mount in between them aswell, the engine dosent just sit on the steel piece.

ahh ok i thought you had to cut the hood bracing for mckinney. everything bolted right up with the syko kit too. i went and looked at the mckinney mounts and it doesn't look like they have as much poly urethane material as syko does. but i could be wrong, pics can be deceiving. how does mckinney go about addressing the LHD steering shaft clearance?
