This message board is amazing... I have found more information about engines and RB engines in specific than any of those stupid ad-filled car magazines. Anyways, I had a couple of questions: From what I understand, you need a custom mount to fit the RB25DET into a S14... is this just because of clearance of that intake manifold? So would a Greddy intake manifold solve this problem? Also for the swap would I have to use the ECR33 Transmission or could the KA transmission work, because I remember reading somewhere that a lot of Nissan transmissions are interchangeable with a some work to fit them. So would the KA transmission work or would it have to be the RB25 transmission with a modified driveshaft?

Thanks

You have to use the RB25 transmission. I believe teh internals of the transmission my be the same, but the housing is different and won't bolt up.

I'm pretty sure you can use the stock mounts and R33 crossmember to mount the engine, but you will have to make a cut in the hood to make it fit, just the inside skeleton of the hood.

I'm going to be putting a RB25 in a s14 as well. I'm still debating which route to go with the mounts. Mack, if you use your custom mounts do you also need to use a downpipe made by you guys? And how much is the mounts/dp etc? Your site was messed up so I couldn't get anything.

You do not HAVE to use custom mounts!!! We do because (one) some pople do not have the crossmember and we like the position of the motor/trans with the mounts and some must swap the stock motor back for emissions. If you use a custom intake there is no clearance problem with Skyline crossmember.

You need a complete motor set or a clip to get all the parts you need. The RB trans MUST be used as it is different and stronger than the KA.. Modified or custom driveshaft must be used..

Any Good shop can make the down pipe for you.. but a custom made one will have to be used.Call me for pricing 619-449-4748 someone sent it a viris!!Mack @ Mckinney Motorsports
