what is it? i haven't gotten the motor out yet to see but any info i could find said its a nissan modified t28 ... looking at it from underneath the clip it most definitly looks like a hyrbid design as the exhaust housing is much smaller than the compressor... just wondering if anyone can confirm thats what the stock turbo should be like until i start tearing into the clip to see for myself , i doubt its anything but stock as everything down the airbox is stock on the clip... just bs'in and bored thought id ask...

Tis a nissan turbo w/garrett internals so I've read. Yes the exhaust housing is smaller than the compressor side. I forget the specs on the turbo though.

so the s14 sr20 got a bigger turbo than the r33 GTST skyline?

i dont think so.

i was always under the assumption its a straight BB t3 turbo with ceramic wheels.

No, it's a T28.

RB26's have T25's.

They are ceramic not ball bearing. That would be way to expensive.

T-25 is a t3 but that just has to do with housings and stuff. But when ppl say ball bearing I think of like the GT series ball bearing turbos

YES, OVER BOOST CAUSES MAJOR MALFUNCTIONS IN THESE TURBOS. I SAW A FEW PICS FROM A GUY IN AUSSIELAND..... HE SAID HE BOOSTED 16 PSI FOR 20KMS AND HEARD A BANG. HE LIMPED IT HOME AND PULLED THE TURBO AND THE EXHUAST PORTION WAS DESTROYED AND THE INTERNALS WERE MISSING OR CHEWED UP.

Note to self: don't run 16psi on stock turbo.
