So the rb starts up and all, got everything pretty much wired up. But when I drive the thing, it doesn't feel like theres a whole lot of power or pull to it? it infact feels weaker than a SR or KA-T. Well im assuming its because i've got something done wrong.

Somehow I managed to hookup the intercooler the wrong way, the cold pipe is switched with the hot pipe end. I just looked at an FSM and realized i had it on backwards. Would it make a diff though? I was thinking it wouldn't because its just fins right? Well let me know if this is it?

Im trying to think of anything else thats wrong, I don't hear any vacume leaks but I may have some, my boost gauge reads -.50 and pretty much stays there constant. But when I rev(or let go of the throttle), I die out sometimes. I am NOT using an aftermarket bov either.

I have the maf hooked up and so forth, but there is no metal spring in that rubber inlet hose that goes to the turbo. I know on SR's that pipe needs the metal inside or else it collapses under boost? It doesn't seem to be havin that effect where it bogs at higher revs though. The thing boosts about .5 bar according to my profec b which is just reading boost, not being used as a boost controller. Any ideas?

check the timing and pressure test it, that should find and solve the problems you are having.

Check fuel pressure and plugs. For preventative maintainance what did you replace? Here are a number off possibilities:

Plugs, Coil(s), MAF/ bad sensors, Wiring, Boost/vac leak, Plugged fuel filter (most likely), Weak fuel pump, and timing. Thats all I can think of off the top of my head. Check all of those and get back with us.-Alex

Plugs - I replaced them with ngk irridium 1 step colder, the brek6 something....

coils...shoot not sure about those?Any particular resistance it should offer?

Bad Maf sensor - i just got one that was the correct one, but it could still be bad.

Boost/Vac - leak is a definite possibility im gonna build a pressure tester and go to work on it

Pluged fuel filter - gonna pick up a 300zx

Weak fuel pump - doubt it, just replaced with a walbro back in december?

Timing - is a definite possibility im gonna pick up a timing gun too.

first pull all 6 plugs to look for combustion. If they're black then check the plug for correct plug gapp.

if you want to check the coil i believe it's 10.1-10.8 ohm

then check the timing.

also boost leaks sir.

can you be more specific on how to check the coil?? you're talking about the individual packs?

Also i feel stupid now. My car doesn't start up im not gettin spark anymore for some reason. Im gonna redo my wiring. ****.

hey 240sxed, i had a similar problem back when i swapped iin my rb20...i went through that checklist just like you did and it still didnt fix my problem. turns out i just needed to tune it though. dont ask me why, but my car was running super lean (possibly due to a faulty ecu, another problem i had)...so i got a new ecu, tuned it to the proper a/f ratio with an apexi s-afc (good for stock rb motors, but if you plan on doing more then you might just wanna get a stand alone), and now it runs like a dream. so maybe look into that if all else fails. good luck.

hey are you sure your firing all cylinders? that sounds the same as my old problem. I had a bad ignitor. you should check that out also
