did anyone get a good fix on a replacement besides mckinney motorsports. Just asking before i place my order.

Reason why i ask is because my rb25det slave cylinder is causing some clutch release issues currently. I took it off and it is sticking due to corrosion or some other crap that is in the cylinder.

Thanks for reading fellas!

I just used my KA slave cylinder on the transmission, it works fine and bolts right up.

KA slave only works on the RB20 trans.

Go ahead and order from mckinney. I ordered one through nismo and it took forever and a day to get! Mckinney has the nismo unit I do belive.

The RB25 slave cyl. has two down ward facing holes and the RB20 slave is the KA slave cylinder. i see you have the RB25tranny bu i do not know how you bolted it on since it would not work in my transmission. can you post up pictures of the cylinder.

See, thats the slave cylinder that Venus auto sent me, but the transmission didnt have those holes, they were lined up to use the KA24DE slave and it mounted up and everything so i dont know what the deal is, becuase i also have quite a LARGE output shaft so i KNOW its an RB25 transmission unlike the RB20's which my friend had who said it was definately smaller.

You can see that the slave bolts are vertical instead of horizontalMaybe i got a magical transmission.

Perhaps, LOL. If it was a neo, that would explain its newness and the feel of shifter.... its got about 3 inches of throw and is so stiff and crisp in every gear its unbelievably sturdy and tight. And it doesnt have an aftermarket short shifter. Also the 300ZXTT yoke fit it perfectly becuase i used that size yoke to make the One peice custom driveshaft.

If you guys can't find a new rb25det slave cylinder, you can always just rebuild your's. The internals of the rb25det slave cylinder is the same as the KA slave cylinder. If you guys want the part number, I can get it for you when I get home.

i noticed that as well. Although the inner wall of my slave cylinder has corrosion pitted into the wall. I thought about trying to clean it up but i'll lose the tight fit around the copper cylinder. So i ordered a new one from mckinney. Dude these guys are slow with thier shipping info.

The throw out bearing will attach to the clutch rather then just the shift fork. The slave cylinder will also be on the opposite side of the fork. Also unless you bought one used, pull type clutchs are expensive. They will run about $800 and up. Looking at the pic you posted that trans has a push type clutch.

yes it works cause you have the rb20 motor it is the rb25 which is diffrent due to the size of the transmission.

most obvious way to tell is the slave cylinder points the OPPOSITE direction. push type, the slave faces towards the engine, so the fork ends up pushing into the PP. pull type, the slave faces towards the rear of the car, making the fork pull up on the TO bearing, which is attached to the PP.

My 25 transmission was a pull type, and i converted it to push.

Noticed this on ebay and remembered this thread.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1

Now I do not know if it will match the vertical bolt patern but it may be something to look into.
