I am currently working on converting a automatic series 2 RB25 into a 5 speed. Everything has bolted up and all the pedals work, the problem is with the drive shaft..

The yoke fits but the drive shaft off a RB25 5 speed is too short. Do i need a series II 5 speed drive shaft work? Or if anyone knows if it can come off another car?

I only have 2 options now... 1) custom 1 piece aluminum drive shaft ($450)2) cut, weld, balanced custom drive shaft. ($400 ish)

Best bet is to get a custom steel shaft with rebuildable joints. They only cost like $250. Definitely not $400+. Don't bother with the OEM joints.

yeah i was shooting high... i dont know many shops around here. I'll definatley go that direction.

Is it normal for the rear of the transmission to leak fluid if its spinning without the drive shaft? And for it to spin even in neutral?

Check out local stock car or sprint car racing shops. Ask who makes their driveshafts.

If you don't have a shaft in it, it is going to leak if the transmission is at any kind of an incline.

I have noticed that even if it is in neutral that the output shaft will spin very slowly and it could just be from friction. Could also be that the clutch is not fully disengaging.

hmmm i was wondering that to... even when i step on the clutch all the way down it would keep spinning. I thought maybe there was no resistance from the driveshaft to stop it from moving, but i cant verify until i get the drive shaft.

Is that for a RB25 going into a S14? I needed it for a R33 GT-S, its not a swap.
