so i finally got the car running after i got new plugs, gapped them properly, and got rid of all my boost leaks and took it for a test drive and it ran pretty good, just seemed maybe a lil out of time.... so i loosen the cas and get my timing gun start the car and POOOF.... a cloud of grey smoke comes out the exhaust and the car stalls... try again... a little more smoke and stalls.... after 3 tries the car won't even try to pop off anymore. I pulled the cas off and spun it with the key on and its getting spark (spark hit me from the other end of the block) as well as the injectors are all clicking... I've also got lots of fuel pressure inside the lines. I'll probably figure it out, but if anyone can beat me to it, I would appreciate it very much.

Did you accidentally foul the spark plugs? Pull them and check them for anything abnormal first.

ok... so i got the car running again after waiting a few hours to start it and feathering the gas then it ran great... but now it's doing it again... what could be causing it to flood?

p.s. plugs actually look pretty good.

Im having the exact same problem........ has replacing this helped? Ive checked the cas and its checked out good! the AFM is questionable...... ive checked voltage just as the FSM has specified but on one of the prongs in the plug has more than 5.0v but all others check out good. Spark is present, and ive had engine running but stalls out! Any solutions would be great... i miss driving my car.

havn't checked the afm voltage yet.... I kind of always thought they either worked or didn't work.... But for some reason my car is still running hella rich with no mods other than walbro pump and universal fpr

*replaced the coolant temp sensor

Using the loop off the #1 coil the timing shows to be 15 deg. w/ cas fully retarded...????

Set the cas in the middle as best as you can. On the stock ecu that *will* be proper timing if the timing belt is on correctly.

with the cas in the middle the car runs like ***..... i'm starting to wonder if something is wrong with my fpr

* is it normal for the fpr to jump to 40+ psi when you spin the cas with your hand while the key is on?
