So I just purchased a replacement ecu after frying my last one.. Problem is I have no way to check if its a series 1 or series 2 computer.. This is a a two part question.

1) I've taken the cases apart, the boards look IDENTICAL save for this new ecu has an LED down by the little viewing port (Used for Flashing engine codes?).

2) IF I plug this computer in, assuming my wiring is OK, would there be any reason for it to cook this one as well? I know i need to run an igniter, but without it would the coils try to draw too much current?

Ah hell, may as well ask a wiring question as well.. I've connected my sensor power wire (The light blue one that powers the AAC, Boost control, etc) directly to my ignition switch power (Literally gets power from the steering column). Should there be any problems with this?

Thanks!

Dan
