So I have been browsing around this forums RB section, and on Hybridz, even on racebread before it was gone, and S-Chassis, Club240, and everywhere else trying to find the answer to this question.

I have the stock 02 housing on my RB25DET turbo, and I am using a Top Hat mount kit, I know its not the most respected kit in the world by some people but I got a killer deal on it, and I am trying to figure out where I can find a nice 02 dump for it that could clear the steering rack a bit better and a downpipe.

My friend Racinjitter got his Downpipe for his Z31, and I have been considering doing that, especially since it was rather cheap (sub 200 dollar range).

I have looked at the Mckinney option and possibly the skyo turbo elbow to get around the steering rack, but I am pretty sure a grinder wheel and about 2 minutes of work will fix that clearance problem.

I have heard also of an AM Motorsports downpipe, some people saying that skyline downpipes bolt right up?

I am getting ready to drop the motor in about a week so any help would be appreciated.

On a side note to this point to this post, when I got my swap from a friend he got from an early importer and he was shorted the RB25 Trans, in place of an RB20, so, I therefore ended up with the RB20 trans, (only paid 800 for everything so I am not really complaining). I am just looking for thoughts on wether or not this wacky idea of mine will work,

Which basically my thoughts are, that if the Trans ends up in realitively the same spot, and the RB20 trans gearbox and output shafts are the same as the KA, shouldnt I therotically be able to fit the stock driveshaft back in, atleast till I can source the correct RB25DET trans and make a change over to the new trans and 1 piece driveshaft.

Thoughts, input, scream use the search button please comment.

as far as i know you will be able to use the stock driveshaft. i mean the only thing you can do is try it really. either way you are gonna need to mount the engine to get a measurement if you have to get a custom one so no matter what you aren;t going to be wasting anytime really.

yeah the worry is over though, through a massive stroke of luck / blessing (depends on your beliefs in life I guess) I acquired both a RB26DETT trans and VG30DETT Trans within 1 day of each other for a grand total cost of 260 bucks and a KA24DE trans
