Hello everybody, I'm now doing my first S13 RB25DET build. I plan to post every step of the way and would like your opinions. I just bought a 93 240SX Hatch with NO rust, which i am very happy with. I am now stripping it down to be painted.
The new parts I have for when I get the motor are:
Water Pump
Oil Filter
All 3 Accessory Belts
Fuel Filter
Idler and Tensioner Pulleys
Timing Belt
Spark Plugs
And the New parts that I am ordering are:
Oil Pump
300ZX n/a Clutch Kit-Everyone says it fits RB25, Correct?
Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
Motor Mounts off of eBay-I know McKinney is better but I am on a budget
Solid Drive Shaft
Nismo FPR-Maybe- would like some advice on this
Aluminum Radiator for S13- Again I am told this works for RB25(the hoses are larger on the RB BUT the radiator has oversized fittings)
2 12" Electric Pusher Fans
Possibly a custom engine wiring harness OR I will re-wire myself
Some other things that I want if I have the money:
Turbo Timer
Boost Gauge
FMIC
BOV

Every thing look good so far? I have been reading and still am reading up as much as I possibly can and I am quite sure that I have all the necessary parts listed to have a running RB25DET S13. Please correct me if I am wrong. I know that there have been a lot of people that have had close to the same thread but just want to make sure that I am fully prepared and I don't get stuck trying to piece together a non-running car. I have what I would call a general knowledge about 240's as I have had a few and have done all the work on my cars. Thank you for any replies and I will post some pics of my progress.

Edit-Please let me know the cheapest place to get the parts I don't have and a good place to get an engine. I am looking at Venus-Auto right now for RB25DET

Nice to hear that you have the guts to do stuff yourself! trust me, the more you do yourself the the better your car will behave. No one knows more about a car than the one that builds it.
I was very new to this a year ago just like you and now i have a 450whp rb25 s13 with about $5k spent including the car. This is all because i did everything myself except tires and welding.
I will be more than happy to help you out with the build, i like people that are eager to learn. Hate the ones that say "take it to a professional mechanic that know what they are doing".
email me: [email protected]

I got my RB25 from this shop on ebay, i think its called JDMplanet. It was a full swap M/t with EVERYTHING that you need to make it work. got that for $1750 shipped, the motor was at my door with in 5 days...
im too lazy to type all this stuff, just contact me b4 you buy all these parts because i wasted a lot of $ on like fans and stuff and they sucked.

Edit: had to take off my Facebook page just in case of thieves on this forum

What X-member are you using? S13 or R3x?
What differential are you using?
What turbo?
I wouldn't worry about a timer or BOV for a while.
I would go with a stock S13/14 radiator and clutch-fan. a lot of us 'old timers' here have discovered they are superior to E-fans for almost all applications. Having a single 12" pusher on a switched relay is not a bad idea though.
Get a Carl H harness and Shaftmasters 1-pc DS. (I don't think you meant a solid DS, but 1-pc)
skip the AFPR and use an inline FP gauge.
Add a wideband o2 sensor and a consult cable.

I am using an S13 X-member
I will have to look at the diff. (whatever comes stock on the 93 240 hatch)
I am gonna use the stock turbo on RB25DET for now
I Want to go with an aluminum rad but the clutch fan wouldnt have enough room in an s13 no matter what I do correct?I want 2 12" pusher fans-should be alright with that correct?
I will look into a Carl H harness-it would be better than spending $1000 on beer trying to get the wiring right. Yes I meant 1-pc for the shaft and I am getting Shaftmasters steel 1-pc.
And I will look into the other 2- Thank you for your help much appreciated.

make sure the fans are flex-a-lite or another reputable brand, because if you use those chineese fans, it will be overheating all the time.

For a clutch-fan, use a stock S13/14 or R3x radiator and it should fit, but that also depends on your mounts.
I used the R33 x-member that came with my half-cut.

Diff is an R200 probably. You just have to check if it has the orange (VLSD) tag or not.

Keep the 25 turbo for a while. try and snag a 20 actuator (swing valve) if you can.

I will probably do flex-a-lite fans.
I will check the diff thanks for the clear up on what to look for.
But I do not have the engine yet so we will see what I get for sure. I would love a half-cut but they are usually too expensive unless someone can show me a place that sells them cheaper but are still good.

I had a question about your fan setup. Did you end up buying the 2 12" pushers from flex-a-lite? And if so did they fit right up with your radiator? And what radiator are you using?
