After a few hours of research here's what I think I need get the swap done and the parts I'll use. Let me know if I'm missing anything or if I don't need something I've listed. Want to get the swap done right but as little $$ as I can.

McKinney Mounts $535McKinney Shaft $424McKinney Harness $300External Powersteering Cooler $~200High Vol Fuel Pump $~120Adjustable fuel pressure reg. $195s14 radiator $~50Radiator fan $~don't know, $100 I guessTotal $~2000That's kinda pricey already, but will be fun.

After I get the engine in and running it's time to Upgrade. Here's this list, I expect it to be lacking, I haven't yet finished my research, I was hoping you all could help.

greddy intake $900Q45 throttlebody $??? GT35R $1300Fullrace manifold $2200injectors nismo 740cc $1200Apexi Power FC $1200Misc Gaskets/Hose $1000~

Any idea for a rearend?

Well the idea is to see if I can get some things used, like the fullrace, and i might pass on the apexi power fc for the time.

I'm aiming at 500-600 HP. I pretty sure from what I as reading that I'll need the block rebuilt. Anyone got some good info on that? like what i'm going to need for it hold up to that hp. Budget is 4,000 to start, then 200 per month, plus tax return :D.

Has any seen that DVD drifting.com put out part one and/or two head and block rebuild? I'm thinking of getting them, wanted to know how detailed they are.I'm going to start this project in June as soon as I back to the states. Thanks all for the help

Ill save you the abuse the other members might dish out because this question is asked so frequently by just saying "your scratching the surface"

There are a LOT of small parts that will eat your budget up fast.

I don't see any sort of intercooler on there. Nor do I see a nismo fuel pressure regulator. Two things you should be thinking about.

There are a lot cheaper and dare I say better turbo's out there other than a GT35r. I'm not plugging them, I'm just saying, look at other options before you spend $1300 when you could spend $200 and get a better turbo.

And x2 about a bunch of little parts your not thinking of. O yeah, and boo a Nismo FPR. I've seen problems with them, and there are a lot better out there for the same price (Aeromotive for example).

Evan,OP did include an adjustable FPR.

Line Item 6:"Adjustable fuel pressure reg. $195"

I thought you were 'taking a break' from the RB forum for a while.. :-D

OP,

Look into Syko mounts, if your swap does not include the Skyline cross-member.

6Boost exhaust manifold over FullRace.

My power-steering cooler cost me under $20.00.For fuel, you may want to look into dual pumps. Contact Aeromotive about it.Radiator - $250+Radiator Fans - $200+ (dual SPAL or FAL)Fan Controller - $120

I went with a ShaftMasters AL-1pc DS - was around $325 shipped.

Look into alternatives to the GT35 like CJ said. (Borg-Warner, Holset, etc)

You are missing a wide-band oxygen sensor. What about cams / valve-springs?Head-studs? Pistons, Rods, Rings, Bearings?Oil & Water pump? Thermostat? Timing belt & idler & tensioner? Crank collar? Fuel Rail? Quest 110A alternator? What kind of waste-gate / down-pipe / exhaust? What about suspension? (what will the car be used for - DD, street, drift, drag?) You may not need the full Q45 TB (it's huge!) What are you using to monitor engine vitals (PFC won't cut it, dash temp gages are worthless) add about $800+ for gages or 1k+ for DeFi. Going to replace the sub-frame bushings to avoid wheel-hop?

Who is doing your wiring harness conversion? (*cough* Carl H *cough*)

With all of this power, how are you planning to slow it down? Downshifting?

There are also other options for EMS (AEM, or NisTune)

For 500whp, you are going to need a decently beefy clutch, as well as differential. How are you going to apply the torque to the ground, how wide of wheels / tires will you need?

I know that Raw Brokerage can help you find a lot or most of the parts you will need! Give Ricky a shout or call!

As far as 'pricing' goes I think Darius (or someone else) put it best. "Write down, EVERYTHING you can think of, double it, and that is a start."

Answer those questions, and that is a start

I think the best idea for you is to get the motor in the car, and work out all of the little bugs. Get it running properly, and drive it for a few months at very least and get used to it. Once the motor runs like it should. THEN think about modifying it.

thanks for all the info.

yep i have a skyline gts 1993, i have a front mounted intercooler on it. i'll be using on the s13. i've been driving it for about 3 years now. I will be taking the crossmember, and just about anything else i might find useful, like the driveshaft, might save a couple of bucks getting one fabbed at a local shop. i have looked into the syko mounts, but i've heard better things about the mckinneys. mckinneys are about 50 dollars cheaper too from phase2.

i was thinking of doing this in 3 stages, but the cost and difficulty might push it to 4 or 5.

stage 1: swapstage 2: upgradesstage 3: blockstage 4: wheels/ breaks / ect...

um forgive me for not knowing but who is Carl H? I want my harness professionally done, but that won't stop me from trying :P. Syko doesn't do them anymore.

it's sunday here 8am so time for coffee and a new list, thanks again, i'll post it when i finish

Total = ~6000

STAGE 3Greddy Intake - $889Intake Gasket - $40Greddy TB adapter - $80Apexi Power FC - $1200Turbo - $500 – 1300 Don’t know which one yet…Injectors (Sard 800cc) - $1000Fuel Rail - $150 GuessingWaste-Gate (HKS) - $ 830 (RawB)BOV (HKS SQV) - $350 (RawB)Down-Pipe - $200 (Ebay)Exhaust (6Boost Top) - $ 1250 (RawB)

Total = ~7500

STAGE 4 (Downshifting to stop for now)SuspensionTiresBreaks

$16,700 is what it averages, guess i can put $20,000 for all stuff i'm forgetting... like gauges... Most of these parts are new, and probably overkill. I don't want to spend over 10,000 after i get the engine in. Might have to back down from the 500hp range if I can't find some good cheap used parts. Don't have anymore time today, please comment, criticize, scrutinize, but mostly improve this list, thanks again.

Your prices are on the upper end which is good when figuring out a budget but you need to do some searching around and you can cut out alot of money. You can get that pump for 99, fans for around 100, aeromotive fpr for 140 on summit.Your water pump, thermostat, exhaust, and clutch should all be done in Stage 1. IMO There is no need to spend 1k+ on an exhasut Buy a 3"-3.5" pipe kit and the muffler and or res you want and save 800+.Good luck on the build and keep doing research! you will save alot of money!
