Okay, we got my freinds rb25det in and, it runs fine. (ALOT OF TROUBLE TO GET IT HERE)

He pulls out and gets on it alittle. The car's boost gauge is reading 1.2.3.4.5.6, then about 6-7 it goes POP, and seems as if it dies, and then it just sputters around., and goes no where. ALSO, I dont hear a BOV. I tryed my rb20 BOV on it, and still no bov sound.

If you dont "get on it" and stay out of the 5-7 rang, its fine.

I searched, and all I can seem to figure is that its a boost leak. The weird part is...me and him both checked every clamp, hose, and cupler. They all seem fine.

okay, I talked to my buddy today (sorry, he dosn't have internet). this is how we put his timing belt on.

1. lined up timing marks on the crank and cams

2. loosened the bolt on the tensioner, moved out of the way, then tightened the bolt.

3. installed the belt starting at the crank, then going idler pulley, exhaust cam, intake cam, then tensioner pulley.

4. loosen the bolt again, to let the tensioner lighten the belt

5. tighten the belt.

6. turn engine over a few times, then made sure the timing marked lined up again.

...we had the CAS off, and put it back on as close to where it was when we took it off as possible

--------------------------------------------------------------

he drove the car to work for the last 3 days, he describes it like his motor "doesn't like boost", he said that when he is at higher speed and eases on the gas, it accelerates just fine then as soon as he builds even a couple lbs, it slows down, kinda falls on its face. when he lets back off the gas, and gets out of boost, its fine.

---------------------------------------------------------------

today he did a fuel injector flush (where you hook the car up to a machine and run it on nothing but solvent, no gas) but that didn't help, then he dumped some "sea foam" down the break booster line, and that didn't help either. he has some brand new NGK R spark plugs that he got at Nissan, he's gonna put them in tomorrow.

---------------------------------------------------------------

here is some more info on the car:

it has a Walbro fuel pump, 300zx fuel filter, and the stock fuel pressure regulator

it also has a brand new o2 sensor, and thermostat from nissan.

and a MAF from a 1995 Maxima

Yeah, taking that CAS off and setting it back as close as possible isnt going to make your engine very happy.

Time your engine, god knows how retarded or advanced it is.

RB's are probably one of those most timing sensitive nissan engines i have ever dealth with, even 1 or 2 degrees can create a notacable difference, and 5 is like night and day.

yeah, you need to set the ignition timing too, not just the cam timing. you need a timing light. also you need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and set to correct fuel pressure. fix those then let us know

well its fixed! (sorry, this is my car we are talking about, my computer has been down). I did alot of searching on this forum, and other forums, and found out that alot of people having the same problems as me ending up having bad coil packs, then I heard about the dude in Australia covering there coil packs in silicone to insolate them better.

so anyway, I'm a mechanic at a Honda dealership, and we have this stuff often called "Honda-bond", and it is know to fix pretty much anything (its magic, I swear), so I took my coils out, coated the outside of them with this stuff, and now it doesn't bog down when I hit boost, it ****ing takes off. haha.
