Hey all, new to the forum and the rb25. I'm experiencing what feels like power loss above 40% throttle on my s1 rb25det swapped s13. When I give it any more than 50% throttle it feels like my rate of acceleration actually slows. Long story short my MAF wires melted together and fried my "TJ" ecu (I think thats a S1 ecu). A local shop had a "CC" ecu (s2 ecu?) laying around so we swapped the two. The new CC ecu runs fine but ever since the old ecu shorted out I've been feeling this power loss. Am I running the wrong ECU or did the short fry some sensors or wires?

Get a series 1 ecu and go from there. I know the wiring is slightly different on a series 2 so the ecu would be different.

I don't know how well or to what extent your wires were burnt to but, if your maf wires are damage what so ever, you're just asking for issues. De-loom those wires all the way back and replace them with proper shielded wires and solder them and heat shrink, if not already done so.

Also, make sure you are running a S1 ECU as Joshua mentioned above

Would a S2 ECU in a S1 rb25det cause a loss of power like that? I heard you could use an S2 ECU and have it work well.

its the other way around. It seems as only the S1 ECU can be used on both S1 and S2 motors.

Alright thanks for the input, one more question. Which ECUs corespond with with series? I know my TJ ecu was a series 1, but what is the CC ECU series 2? Is the G8 series 2? what other ECUs are series 1?
