Well as title state's i am trying to figure what to do. To be clear on things i am intended on converting over to awd (i know why) but anyway. Well long story short i have a awd transmission sitting in my garage and got two deals on the motors. Ok the rb20 has all accesories, turbo, harness, ecu, clutch, transmission, the whole nine yards. Ok, the rb25 is just engine, harness, ecu, turbo, clutch, flywheel, and all that. I really like the rb25 just for the simple fact of it being a bigger and newer engine.

But i have some questions, i am not very versed when it comes to these motors and lack certain knowledge there of. Like can i bolt the non awd rb25 to the awd transmission? Have heard the block's are a little different.??? I know that some of the bolt holes from the rb26 pan/diff dont line up, but as a majority the pan's interchange.

If anyone with experience with either motor will chime in and help me out it would be greatly appreciated. I have funds now and am planning on starting this pretty soon. Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you know what all is involved in going AWD? What vehicle is this? What kind of funds do you have?

Yeah ive researched and come up with that it aint as bad as some would lead out for it to be. Basic parts list is of course motor and trans, gtr crossmember, gtr knuckles, custom front suspension, matching rear diff with diff pump and sensors. I can get all of that at a very decent price. Controling the torque split is basically the hardest part seems like to me.

The fabrication part is not what scares me, i enjoy that aspect of engine swaps. I would go rb26 but the price of those engine still are just unreal. I mean people want over 3g's just for the engine. I have just basic questions about the engine and trans and after that i can handle it. I guess i need to research a little more, but was hoping to just get to the bottom of it right now with little delay.

So i assume most would say they would prefer the rb25 assuming that all the parts bolt up?

Edit- I dont have unlimited funds or nothing but i have enough to make this happen.

Dude I already told you!

IF you can find a Stagea Wagon AWD RB25 do it up!

If not, there is nothing wrong with the RB20 either.

The point is, not all RB blocks are the same. There are RWD versions, and ATTESSA (AWD) versions.

You cannot bolt a RWD block to an AWD oilpan/diff.

So I guess the answer to your question is...

Any AWD RB you can get your hands on!

Edit: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories

Snatch that up, they are ridiculously hard to find in AWD!
