well people say that Search the forum but, yah I would go get the RB25DET Series 2, parts are little bit easier to get vs. the Neo thats what I've been reading in the forums for awhile...

I would buy the one that looks cleaner. Neo parts are a little harder to come by because there unique to the neo. Id say just the reg rb25 would be your best bet. But what do I know. Ive never been a 25 owner.

hey man, I've been contemplating the same thing lately...although I think my project is a little farther in the future for me though since I'm a broke *** college student but yeah, the whole newness of the NEO is definitely a plus. I thought that I read somewhere that the throttle was electronic instead of cable operated...? I don't know the truth but that was something that kinda made me wonder. Anyways, let us know how that goes!

the throttle isnt fly by wire, it does have a electronic throttle motor which is used soley for the traction control system and isnt used on a swap anyways unless your an idiot...lol the throttle body acutally has not one but two throttle plates in it..one is cable operated for the gas pedal and the other is for the traction controlwhich is electronicly driven by a stepping motor attatched to the side of the throttle body.its the same style setup on the later model Q45's too.

So what did you do? Did you just take out that second plate or is it not a big issue to just leave in?
