ahhh not sure on the weight... but the RB does have 2 more cylinders so my guess would be that its heavier.

The weight of the ka-t would be different for all setups... depends on what you put on the motor.....

Plus the rb25 uses a big transmission so more weight. But I dont really think it would make that much difference in handling.

i think its like 100lbs give or take.

ive had a built kat pushin around 300 rwhp and i now have a rb25det. the big difference i see in these engines is the kat has the low end "quick" response power, although it sounds like its always being pushed. i was at 15lbs of boost on a t3super 60

on the other hand the rb25, which i havent boosted past 5lbs on a gt35r is a little more hesitant from what it seems like, but it does need a tune and boost turned up. another thing is that the rb doesnt even seem like it is straining when i mash the gas, again its at only 5 lbs though.

weight in the car isnt really that bad, i had the kat in a s14 and the rb is in a s13. the s13's rear end comes around quicker than the 14 did.

sound, love the sound of a straight 6...

wheew, i hope you do plan on boostin alot more on that turbo hehe...

i agree, RB's do sound pretty mean out the exhaust...a stock RB w/ exhaust revving it up makes it sound like it has a few hundred HP more than it really does...

but i would do a built KA-T over a stock internalled RB anyday...

for the money you'll spend on a STOCK rb25 install you can have a built and turboed ka with good management.a stock install will run you about 4.5-5k on a rb25 and with that money you can have a fresh motor with plenty of potential...

and carl H is a very smart guy when it comes to the RB. If he's sayin go ka-t that should be enough reason to do it!

also depending on if you go crossmemeber or mckinnley mounts you may have yto trim hood bracing b/c the rb comes farther forward. its also another thing to think about that even though the motor may be close in weight it does over hang the front wheels more.

i think it a question more of do u want to do a engine swap and do custom modification. they are both great engine platforms imo...
