Hey guys I know this isn't a common problem but I did an oil change on my rb25det last week. It was sprinkling so I rushed it a little bit but no excuses. I bought a 5 quart jug of mobil 1 and filter. Well get to the point I put 4.5 of it in and I think it was too much. I drove it around it was fine then it started to get slower and acceerate less. Now I went through 2 sets of spark plugs and it's still the same. Checked the oil a few times and changed the plugs let it idlle and it doesnt run like before. So should I tow it to my mechanic or is there anything else I can do before I bring it out there? Sorry for writing a short story but just explaining the situation and I need HELP!!!

Why do you think it was too much? I usually put 4.5 qts in with a new filter. Have you checked the level on the dipstick?

did you use a thicker oil when you did your oil change? 4.5 if you change the filter is normal

Does it start to bog immediately when you hit the pedal? Or does it bog at 3500 rpm?

Check your intercooler piping couplers for an air leak.

Yea I checked the oil over and over I have to check all the couplers and piping. The thing is it ran fine when I took it to work which is close to 100 mies back and forth but then it started bogging so it has to be the piping right? It was at the line before it hit h so it was just cose to high. It bogs before 3500 I think

sounds more like a maf/intake track issue rather than an oil change issue...unless the mobil one had some how turned to a tar like consistency.gotta love coincidental problems.

It blew a little black smoke out the exhaust too. Tell me how my oil and spark plug change went to 160.00 dollars unbelieveable. It might a a maf problem because the idle kept going bad so I have to double maybe triple check everything but thanks to all the responses.

Have you tried some MAF cleaner??I would make a boost leak tester and make sure there are no leaks in the system.

Check out your vacuum lines make sure they're not cracked. I put zipties on the ends of all of mine.
