rb25det no start problem

A friends s14 with rb25det was working the other day just fine, but now won't start. Fuel pump is working, checked for spark ...fine; Compression checked out fine. Engine cranks but does not fire. Cranks about 180 rpms. Spark plugs are not fouled and are not wet making me think something is preventing the injectors from firing. The only thing that was changed was installation of tein coilovers. No ECU codes, checked all relays and fuses, fusible links. Tomorrow I will have more time to check the harness. Any ideas?

do you have power to one of the wires to the injector plug in the KEY ON position???

Yes I get 12 volts. Had the starter tested, and it passed, but I am only getting 160 rpms during start. Checked ignitor and replaced with new one.

Remove the cam angle sensor. Turn the ignition on and turn the shaft with your fingers. You should hear the injectors firing. If not that could well be your problem there. Make sure you put a mark on the sensor so that you can put it back in the same position other wise you will have to redo you timing.

That's what I came up with next, but it started raining tonite and the car is outside. I was actually prepared to test it with the voltmeter according to the FSM instaed of just listening for the fuel injectors. I'm tempted to pull the whole harness out of the car just to get rid of all of the butt connectors...but that's a project for another day!!! Hopefully this is it or I will be pulling the harness.

Also forgot to mention his SAFC is showing knock 25. Just typing this makes me think the ECU is retarding timing 25 degrees because it is sensing knock. If that's the case then there's my problem right there. Maybe I am stupid and need to check if the knock sensor plug is connected!!!!!

It should still start with the knock disconnected.

When I rotated the CAS, the injectors didn't click, they buzzed. I tested the pins according to the FSM and got .2 volts from pin a and no voltage from pin b as i rotated the cas. I think this means the CAS is fried.

Well at least you you know where your problem lies. The next step I would take is to get your hands on another CAS from a friend and test. You still want to rule out that you have no wiring issues.

iis the CAS firing the plugs???? If so the computer may be bad...

The CAS will fire the plugs and I can even get it to run for 5 seconds or so by making the injectors fire then replacing the CAS. Tried another CAS and no change. I am pulling the wiring harness out tomorrow and checking its integrity.

So it's getting worse. pulled out the harness and resoldered all of the connections. Plugged it back in and now the Fuel pump isn't even turning on. I may have to recheck the grounds, because the SAF and ECU are no longer getting power!!!! This started happening after I left, So I don't know if something got disconnected since I left. Replaced the ECCS, Ignition and Fuel Pump Relays and no change. I'm wondering what would cause this problem in the first place? the car ran fine for two years and now this???
