so.....
this is my first rb25det neo (RWD) engine and i will fix it in a peugeot 504 - 76

but i have some questions to the rb specialist i know there is a lot of info. on the internet for this engines but i'm totally lost and i want some one to simply answer this questions :

1- what is difference (mechanically and electrically ) between the neo and non neo engines?
2- did the neo engines came in R33 or it only came in R34 and starting from what models???
3- how can i make sure that my engine is originally a DET engine ???
4- what is the difference between s1 and s2 engines?
5- what is the ECU serial number which matches my Rb25 det neo (because i got the engine with a harness only )?
6- i bought an rb20 gear box with this engine because of the lake of resources (money) is this will be a problem in the future ?
7- what is the difference between an automatic and a manual transmission engine harness and how can i know which harness i have?
8- i need a full wiring diagram for this engine as the wiring is the most challenging thing for me (fixing the motor into the car is the easy part).

this acutely summon my doubts for now
any help from you guys will be very appreciated
if any one have any info for me for fixing an rb engine into my car please let me know

1 neo has essentially vvel from what i have red (or along those lines)
2 neo rb25's only came in r34's
3 i dont think ive ever seen a rb as n/a
4 i cant remember
5 i have no idea lol
6 should be ok, generally see a 25 5 speed or the z32 with an adapter plate.
7 id go with a wiring specialties harness unless youre really good at wiring
8^^^ plug and play
im assuming this is going to a s-chasis?

ooookey that's a lot of info man LOL
but thanks for your replay

the problem is that i'm from a country which have very less knowledge about this engines as it is not really popular in here. so a wiring specialties no can do .... and i have to get going with studying of the rb wiring diagrams and for me its not very hard as i'm an electronic engineer but i need some guidance because this is my first wiring for an engine like that.

and no the engine is not going into an s-chassis .It is going into an old Peugeot 504 chassis design but as i said mounting the engine to the car is not a problem for us .

aha will me also i not sure that it will actually fit
but what the hell.... we will try
There is some one i know from Australia who actually bolted down a 2JZ in a Peugeot 504 and after i saw it i goatherd up my balls and bought the rb engine.
but i have no worries .... my brother is a damn good welder ... we have a tig machine ... we have access to CNC and plasma cutting machines ... we have pretty much every thing we need to fabricate any thing we need ; we just have to get started.

for sure i will keep you all posted.

As far as I can remember the RB25DET neo did not have VVL or VVEL. Neo has solid lifters vs the hydro lifters in the regular RB25's. The Neo had something do with its emissions I think. It had VCT on the intake cam like the other RB25's and a steel bladed turbo vs ceramic bs that came on the older turbo's.
