I heavily considering swapping an RB25 into my s13. I will be moving to Cali after the Air Force gives me to boot on a medical discharge. This means, for me to legally register my car and drive it, I have to be able to pass the swap inspection and then a smog check. I already know that a stock tuned RB25 will pass the "sniffer" test. My issue is getting it to pass the visual inspection. It only fails because there isn't an EGR system. The smog inspectors need to verify that the equipment is there and appears to be connected. They must also test the valve and make sure it's working. I was thinking about modding the throdle body and exhaust manifold so i can install a functioning EGR system. let me know if you think this will work or not. I'm open to suggestions

Is there anyone who has an RB25 in their s13, who lives in Cali and has it fully registered and 100% legal. Can you tell me how you did it.

can not be done legally, a few have used alt fuels to do it ; but I question if it legal unless you run that fuel all the time....RB is not a federal EPA/DOT legal motor at this time, some state do not care, but California does.....
