who see's a problem with this swap? has it ever been done, and if not, why the hell hasn't it? I've seen alot of old Z's with american iron under the hood, but none with modern technology.

Front clip - $2000Hoses - $300Drive Shaft (carbon fiber) - $700Garage Welded mounts - ?$?Fuel Pump - $200Fuel Cell - $200

$3400 so far, so I'm guessing $5000 in hard cash....... counter point anyone?Would this be an ideal setup?

It has been done, its a great swap! I am going to Rb26DETT my 77 280Z within the next year....got lots of body restoration to do first though...
