I can´t find what is the oil type for the rb25det trans , API GL-4 or API GL-5 ??? and what is the oil amount???

redline shock proof heavy 4 qts is what i used i believe the gl that has anti wear agents (5 i think) wasnt out for too long and used by nissan i think the 350z was the first to use it and it didnt even roll out of dealerships with it, also this was just posted i believe a

who started this vicious rumor telling people to use heavy shockproof in their transmissions? thats 250 weight oil.

if its a street car, just get a 90 weight synthetic. redline, mobil 1, whatever.

I used heavy shockproof because my trans whines like a little girl who lost her favorite dolly. My trans is F-ed. I would not use it in a good trans.

Its a pain to shift in the winter!

i actually like molasses in my trans and on my pancakes... seriously i had grinding on my trans a couple times on 3rd gear and i am gunna be hittin the drag strip so i opted to run it, but i hear the green one is the best for a normal car

i ran lightweight (125 weight) shockproof in my transmission for 4 years in my RB, dedicated track car for 3 of those years and NEVER had a problem with it.

250 weight doesnt belong in our transmissions.

But , nobody answered my question.............GL-4 or GL-5 ????I can´t find the MT service manual , only the engine service manual.Probably the rb25 trans use the same oil that the 350z trans , 75w85 GL-4.....

doesnt matter.

a good oil will be multi rated anyway.
