I have been searching though this forum and trying to find information on where are the closest places to order a Rb25DET front clip from. I live in upstate NY. I plan on ordering from http://www.jdm-online.com but they dont have any clips in stock (I called them a few hours ago).

Can you guys just list a few places on the east coast or near by that you know of? In another thread you guys listed something similar but some of the places you obtained your motors from I can't find a website or phone information.

Thanks,Steve

I probably put in about 6-8 hours at least, of searching just this forum before posting this thread. But I realized that all I have to do is call every JDM front clip dealer I can find on this site and talk to the people in person, it's the best way. I found a front clip (RB25DET) for $3500 shipped and will be calling to place the order and get some pics and compression tests from the engine Monday.

Thanks for the help, I will probably be using this forum a **** load in the next month or so... i will post up picks when I'm done..

Thanks NICO and fellow 240sx'ers

Dude don't worry.... After I order the motor I will list where I got it. It was hard finding a clip with low miles under $4k shipped. Plus most places only have one clip with the RB25DET.

I have done motor swaps in different cars, and I feel comfortable taking on the task of the RB swap in the S13. It will probably be one of the hardest swaps I have done, but I have the time and money to dedicate myself to the swap.

Sometimes you can find good deals even from across country, even with the high shipping! But read the forum here and find out which companies are shady!!

I'll be posting again later next week.

i try to keep my eye out but i won't be ready to buy for several months. (thx student loan)

i'm actually in CT, but i still don't know many people who are willing to locate and do the install/build. i don't want to do it myself or have an amateur do it... i want a team of professionals who know what they're doing and can do it fast.

I have heard of a place in southern NY (not the city) that specializes in Nissans and swaps (I think). If I can find them I'll let you know.

Also... word of the wise: Quality over speed

I'm taking my time and reading wiring diagrams and finding and printing all the information I can find!

I ordered my RB25DET front clip today from JDM Customs. Some people said they aren't that great... but I'll find out when I get the clip...

The guy there (Paul) said it will ship tomorrow. So far everything is going smooth.... (crossing my fingers).

COmpression test it BEFORE it gets off the truck or if not tell the guy to hold on a sec and don't sign for it yet.

get a battery, some jumper cables and a compression tester ready so that you can do it quickly.Cause I know those guys just wanna get outta there.

I know how to compression test ect. But what values are typical? And about what cylinder to cylinder percent differences are acceptable.

Here's the pic they sent me... looks like they just pressure washed it.

Yeah I was about to say, looks like he just cleaned up lol.

A motor that's been sitting for years doesn't look that clean.

Hey You got a pitwork rad cap. lol

Well I just got the clip today and I must say... it is really clean! From the picture it appears that they just pressure washed it, but after inspecting the whole clip, it was initially very clean but they probably did wash it. The compression also checked out good.

A couple concerns though... they said it would come with a gauge cluster, it didn't. I was hoping the radiator was intake, it was smashed on the top. The guy also said he had it running with some make-shift fuel pump setup... well I doubt that from the hose connections on the fuel rail, everything looked untouched. And it didn't come with even a partial driveshaft... but that might of been my fault since I didn't ask for one.

So to get this running in my S13 coupe it will need a couple more things than I initially planned... but that just gives me a reason to upgrade to better parts

I'll keep you posted on some of the issues I run into during the swap. And I'll take some pics or video too.

lol i bought my motor from jdmengine depot and i paid all in singles.. they musta hated me...

if u want, i can help u out with ur install if u feel like doing it urself...i would offer to do it for u, but most ppl complain when i give them the estimate after aquiring all the parts for the swap.. i just dont feel right throwing an engine into a car without a nice freshen up..
