Ok so after almost three years of letting my engine sit in my garage I finally put it back together and got it in my s13. It cranked right up as if it had been turned on 5 mins ago and after a minor hiccup it sounds pretty good and idles smoothly. However after fixing all the vacuum leaks we only got a 14 on the gauge. Today we did a compression test and here are the results: cyl 1 155, cyl 2 155, cyl 3 175, cyl 4 160, cyl 5 85, cyl 6 155. Now cyl 3 had some residual oil from a little they used to get the plug out so that should explain the high reading but WTF is up with 5? They did a leak down test and it's coming through the block apperantly and since it hasn't been turned on for years they think it is a stuck compression ring. Could it be anything else? The car has idled about 20 mins worth but not driven. I was told to drive it for a while and get into boost with it and see if it comes unstuck. I did have it just sitting there with no plugs for all that time and even had the head off for about three months. So let me hear your opinions and experiences. Thanks

jiimedan thats a reply to your pm your pms are disabled lol

ok i ran the powerfc and ditched it in favor of the haltech, to me its honestly the best ems on market for price. my rb drives like its a stock ecu, ZERO problems, awesome easy to use software. ton of features built in (2step revlimiter, rally antilag, turbo timer, closed loop boost and 02 control, cheap sensors. the map sensor obviously is amazing, i just upgraded to a 3bar from the built in 2bar which is overkill for most people. i mean i saved money when i sold all my old stuff. once you setup the software which at the time was overwhelming but now its easy since the haltech community shares their info. the issue i would be aware of though is are you doing the platinum or the pro. the differance is that the pro is only for skyline BUT lets you have use of stock knock sensors, or the platinum sport which is a universal ems. but i have ZERO regrets. if you get it, i can help you with getting it set up and issues like that.
