I seem to remember someone saying that other Nissan transmissions will bolt up to a RB25DET, but I can't find the posts now, besides what could you use to search for? I tried "Nissan compatible transmissions", "RB25 compatible trannys", "transmission fits RB", I even tried some of the Australian sites but no luck finding anything. Do any of you guys know what transmission's will fit this engine? I know that they make adaptor plates to bolt up Chevy's to them but they are way to expensive in my opinion, and wallet. I believe someone said that some VG's and Z32 trannys will work, but not sure which one's. It would really be nice to have a list of what will work and what won't, gives you some options at the "you pull it yards" Would a rb26 awd work on a rb25, I did see some of those cheap, for obvious reasons no doubt. I do plan on running mine auto for awhile, but thats probably gonna get old real quick.

why don't you have an rb25 manual transmission with your engine?

sure you could run an rb20 or KA transmission but what's the point? rather than using the strongest Nissan transmission you would be using a crappier one

easy tiger.... have you thought there's a possibility that he just bought the engine separately.... here's a suggestion: don't be a dumb a55 and dump at 6krpm on a dig your transmission wont as break easily.

lol yeah i had thought about the possibility that he bought just the engine....but then thought that nobody did that anymore due to the fact that its too easy to get ripped off with broke *** parts

OR the fact that KA hybrids or RB20DET trannys are more plentiful and i could buy two or three RB20/KA transmissions for the price of one dipped in diamond RB25DET transmission, because everything charges so much for those f ckers.

I'll sale my RB25DET transmission for $1000 plus shipping, if you're interested.

I also have a Conversion Driveshaft for a S14, and McKinney Motorsports transmission Mount.

My engine came with a automatic transmission, the reason I bought it was it only has 43,739 miles on it and I got it for $1061. I got Nissan FAST loaded up last night and I'm searching for trannies that will fit, so far I've noticed that most transmission numbers are the same for US or JDM, but I think that the numbers are for the internals and the transmission case's are different, thats what its looking like so far anyway. But that still helps, because if a FS5W7 or a FS5R30A internals will fit into a RB20 case, that would help as most of the Z32's are these part numbers. But hopefully Nissan used the same transmissions in other vehicles like Pathfinders or whatever, it really wouldn't make much sense for them not to have, so the search goes on, thanks for the replies all.

the RB25 bellhousing is different. If you have the bellhousing you and swap the insides from the Z32 , but still have to work out the shifter problems...

find your self a rb20 transmission if you're on a budget; they are usually $250-$400 . the price of your motor is good, i wouldn't have passed it either.

Thanks boostfed, I'll probably do that. I also might try to find a way to get the automatic to shift sequentially, and maybe try to apply the old Clutch-Flight idea to it. I bet that if you could get it to shift sequentially and use a stall converter, you would have a real animal on your hands, a built automatic is a lot faster shifting than manual, thats why all the Pro Stock boys use them. But 5 speeds with a heavy duty clutch are also fun, that's why I'd like to have both. Will most Nissan transmission's bolt up if you have the correct bellhousing? I'll try to look it up on FAST but if anyone knows, please post, like I said, you never know what you'll run accross at the U Pull it Yards.
