Ive searched, ive been through the first 6 pages of the RB forum, ive looked around through a few of the sponsors websites and I cant for the love of god find any connecting rods for the rb25.

Im aiming for 500+ hp with a small possibility of upgrading to 600ish later on so I figured I would get the build out of the way just in case. Ive found pistons, studs and head gaskets. No rods.

What are all of you 500+ hp guys doing?

Tomei, Carrilo, Eagle, Crower, all make rods for the RB25. Just ask any of the sponsors who carry parts for RBs. If they don't stock something, or show it on their website, they can still get it. Many of the sponsors carry Eagle rods. GL.

Edit: That's good. I had the reply box open while I searched a little bit, so I guess I posted for no reason. Still, gave you some options.

Any rb25 and rb26 rods will work, same size.

For 500hp I doubt the oem rods will have a problem. But if your looking for a good rebuild for around the 500-600whp range I would go with a rb26 oem rod, they have deemed themselves capible of handling the job.

So the OEM RB26 rods will be fine even if I would decide to bump my original goal up to around 600hp?

At 500 hp, your OEM rods will be fine. RB26 rods are much beefier if you want a cheap upgrade. There are a lot of them floating around the states. The RB25 piston rings are the weak link and will fail if you try to push 500 hp especially on a half-assed tune.

I'm running RB26 rods with CP forged pistons and I'm shooting for around 650 hp.

in nissans its generaly not the rod its self that fails but rather the rod bolts...thus making arp bolts a neccisity.

I agree. If anything were to go wrong with the rods, it would be a bolt failure.

what about using an RB26 Crank? is that possible, if so what kind of modifications are needed?
