Just got my Z31 into my hands ready for me to get dirty..

I know very little about the engine so far, so this is a crash course for me.

Here's the first two pieces of information I'm going to need...

1. Tachometer installation. I"ve got an autometer tachometer, and according to what I understand, you have to run it to Pin #7 with a 1watt 10k resistor in order to get it to read.. I also need to know the stock idle RPM and rev limit if anybody knows..

2. I've also got a mechanical boost gauge I need to tap into the manifold somewhere. I've noticed two brass nipples on the manifold already, and was wondering if those are good or there is a better place to install. I also need to know how much boost they run stock, and what lean is on stock injectors.

This is just the beginning of some work, so please take it easy on me. Thanks.

It's an 85 Nissan 300ZX Turbo with RB25DET engine and temporary RB20DET transmission. (Got the 25 transmission in my hands.)

Visit my Yahoo site, there is a link to the R33 FSM you can find all your answers there.

1. 650 & 7200

2. Thats fine

That's easy, download the manual & you will be a little more self sufficient.

Thanks dude...

I joined the site, and got the FSM on the way.

Alot of this stuff isn't the same as the 240 guys since I'm dealing with the z31...

For instance, I plugged the wired the factory digital dash tach-in wire togethor with the aftermarket and ECU wires, and the tach now works, although the digital dash displays RPM in the MPH field instead of on the tach.. weird eh?

Now tackling the A/F gauge and boost gauge installations..

Well, first chance I get I will post some pics and video..

Got another question..

What kind of O2 sensor can I use to replace the factory one? It's mangled at the wire connector.. is there a cross-reference part I can pick up at the local auto store ?

THanks.

You will need to take it to Nissan and have them match it up. They are allt he same, Nissan O2's anyway...the differences are in connector & wire length.
