im looking at getting the neo for my swap but i wanted to make sure that the aftermarket cams and exhaust manifolds will interchange. i know that the noe is suppost to flow better and make more power. but i have also heard that its verry hard to wire it up. if anyone knows what will interchange or has wired one i would really like to know what im up against.

NEO cams are definately different due to the fact that the NEO has solid lifters from the factory. the exaust manifolds are the same though so if you looking for an aftermarket version you can get any one you like and it will bolt up just the same. if you looking for an aftermarket intake plenum like a greddy you will have some issues there . the NEO throttle body wont fit, the IAC valve is also different on the NEO and the fuel rail on a NEO uses top feed injectors like the GTR. those things are all able to be gotten around though and the greddy manifold can and will work on the NEO, i know im using one on my NEO.

so in you opinion is the better flow the rb26 rods and the solid lifters worth the harder to find parst? I also wanted to figure out for sure is this a eco friendly version of the rb25det, with more smog crap? thats what some guys said on here and i wast a 100% on weather it was true. I like the idea of a better bottom end with better flow but im not sure its worth it with less aftermarket.

so what did it take to get 500whp, whats the wireing problem that i haver heard of? one other thing that i was wondering is was the neo engine made to have cleaner emissions or was made as a better version of the rb25det?
