Got a miss on #6 cylinder so I'm tearing it down right now. Will be finishing it up tomorrow

That work would be alot easier with the engine out of the car especially the plenum and its plumbing. Was the miss the only reason you tore it down?

On RB26s You can remove the head without removing the cams 25s should be the same. There appears to be coolant in the intake runners. You will want to clean that up and make sure no coolant gets mixed in with the oil, thats bad.

Good luck

You can leave the cams in. That is what the notches are for, to clear the head bolts.

Yeah I kinda realized that after I pulled them out lol. Oh well, I'll be cleaning everything up really nice and probably give the valve covers a good paint job before they go back on. My first time ripping a RB apart so it's been fun sofar, except for the bolts in weird positions that required me to have a L shaped forarm, lol.

Pulled it due to the miss, compression was reading 10. After putting some oil down the cylinder it peaked at 75 for a few days. Spark and fuel checked out ok so last thing was the rings Oh well

Yeah we were thinking the rings were frozen since the motor was sitting for so long

Do you have any cats running around your neighbor hood, they'll be dead icking up that radiator fluid.

I guess something is wrong with # 6. Good luck with your new engine. Just a reminder when you put the other engine in most everything can be attached except the wiring harness, to make things easier

New motor is in, took a little longer then I thought with the motor mounts and it got really cold tonight so I bolted it down and will finish the rest tomorrow. I'm shooting to have the majority of it done by noon give or take between work hours.

Got a head sitting around with no purpose. I have a OS Giken super single clutch but I was thinking of holding onto it and getting a refresh pack for it.
