rb25det 240 need help

my motor has been in for a wile and the car has been sitting for a couple months and now i went to start it and it started cranking and then made a loud noise and stop turning over.. I tried to charge the battery and started cranking again and did the same thing....is it my battery or my starter ? I jumped my starter and it just spun but when i try to trun it over sounds like the motor is locked i tried a new battery and does the same ? need help

no it used to run....It did run really rich... the block is brand new in it....

i know it may sound stupid but that ignition wire that goes to the cylinder that you put the key in may be lose. mine used to do the same thing. it doesnt sound like its the motor

I just hope its something stupid like that its like the battery is dead even with a new one in it...im hoping its the starter but i jumped it at the senoid and it spun but didnt pop out to the flywheel...but when i try it with the key it sounds like it pops out and just doesnt have the power to turn over...
