The guy who I got my motor from is offering a naturally aspirated version of the RB25 in replacement for the turbo one he sold me that blew up. According to Meggala's website the compression is higher(9:1 for turbo, 10:1 for NA). Would I be able to turbo that motor or would I need to lower the compression? 9:1 is kinda high for a turbo motor to begin with and I think that 10:1 is WAY HIGH but I am not positive. Maybe a new, thicker head gasket would help. Let me know what you guys think.

The cam broke in turn taking out the head, 3 valves, t bearing caps, cas and cas bracket along with throwing alot of cam and head material into the head. pistons and head look ok though. Not sure what generation I am getting.

I'd take the free engine...and then I'd buy that head that fast-datsun said he had :)

Would you be able to put the DE head on the DET block, maybe its the pistons that raise compression and it would stay down if you were to just change out the heads, or do you have to give back the old engine?

I dont believe that I have to send back the old engine, I hope to just change the head, but I am a cheapskate and dont want to buy a head gasket if I can help it.

R32 DE's did not come with VVT. Make sure you get a r33 DE ;)
