Hi guys, i currently have a KA24DE set up in my 240, dont get me wrong i love it. BUT i want somethin with more power and i dont really feel like spending the money to build up the bottom end of my engine then pay for a turbo set up. So i've been thinking about goin rb25det.

I have access to lifts, tools everything i need for the swap (thx to my amazing community colleges auto program which is one of the best in the state.) So that is not a problem. But i have never done an engine swap before and figure i could save around 1200.00. I have a few friends who said they would be willing to help plus instructors who know what they are doing.

My main reason for posting this is for any tips or advice about doing this swap cons and pros. How hard is the swap itself including wiring the ECU and all that fun stuff. is the ecu just a plug and play kinda deal or do u have to go the long way or is it easier to wipe my ecu clean and reprogram it? Thanks for your time/soon to come thoughts.

nothin but 240 love = ).

You might want to check out the several stickies on the main page. Such as the "What is needed to swap an RB into a 240sx FAQ*"

And I'm assuming you meant RB25DET in the thread title right?
