Title says it can the be reused and not need to buy new ones because I wanna paint them but I don't want to take them off.

Are you are talking about the rocker-covers?

If yes, then just be careful removing it, you should be good to re-use. I was careful to remove mine and they just required a light cleaning and were fine on re-installation.

ummmm...no offense but have you ever worked on engines? nissan valve cover gaskets are made or a rubber compound and as long as they are not torn, cracked or dried out and are still pretty pliable, you should be good to go.

Yes they are reusable but dab some RTV on the half moons and also on the rear section of the driver side valve cover.

Personally...If those are the same 18 year old gaskets... CHANGE them!!!!

1- Most likely deformed2- Might be brittle and cracked3- How much do the valve cover gaskets really cost4- Peace of mind

If you wanna pop them off paint them, NOW.Then go ahead, but I'd order up those gaskets ASAP.

You might wanna just order the whole gasket kit, to keep on hand.Just in case.

Do you guys remember the guy in Iowa that sprayed his valve covers while they were on the head and he oversprayed onto everything? I wish I had a pic to post of that.

The gaskets are pretty durable. I have uninstalled/reinstalled mine about a dozen times. All I add is a dab of RTV at each of the two 90* corners at the front of the head and then a thick line over the top of the half-moon piece in the rear. Mine have never leaked.

I was taught to never reuse gaskets.new gaskets are like 60 bucks, it's probably worth it not to take the chance.my 2 cents

typical gaskets like aic, water pump, oil pump, intake mani, exhaust mani...yes...replace the gasket...bu the valve cover gaskets are not really gaskets. they are rubbers seals...not the typical paper style gasket.
