damn that's expensive...Sil240 wrote:You won't be able to rebuild it.
But... you can have a turbo shop change the wheels and center section.
I know a guy that did that with a RB20 turbo.Cost about 450-500.At that point I would go for a holset or a cheap t3 turbo.
Where (by whom)?$200 total. Did they change the blades to steel?twisted99s10 wrote:had mine rebuilt by a local turbo shop for $200, spun balanced and everything.
Yo! Details please, shaft play ext. Oh and whats the flange?Cjmartz2k wrote:Not trying to whore my stuff, but I have a RB25 turbo if anybody needs one.
Which is why we want to know the turbo shop so we don't break them, they do. But seriously where is this place for 200. I had a turbo guy swear his life to me that you couldn't rebuild one for under 500.240zdan wrote:the problem in rebuilding them is the ceramic wheel. usually breaks when trying to remove the compressor wheel nut.

Me wrote:No shaft play. It was on an automatic car that I bought the motor out of for a spare. Missing the actuator though, but you could just use yours. Do you want the cast elbow coming off the back of it? It's heavy, so if you need that, $200 shipped. If not, $185 shipped.
