I have a stock rb25 turbo that I took to pro diesel. They do allot of turbo work for turbo diesel trucks. They took apart my turbo and didn't know how to fix it. They said I just need a center section.

Does anybody in the US rebuild rb25 turbo?Or would I just be better off buying another rb25 turbo?

I may be looking for a cheap stock replacement but I may just buy another bigger turbo. I want to keep the stock one because it is water cooled and BB.

They didn't know how to fix it? I wouldn't have either bothered to take it to a turbo diesal place they only know how to put they're big turbos together. Anyone can rebuild a turbo for you. Majestic turbo to name 1 and most local performance shops can rebuild them its not hard at all. You can probably do it yourself with a rebuild kit that cost under 75 bucks. You might need a different kit since its BB. To get by I'd just rebuild what I got but if I wanted to make some nice HP numbers I'd upgrade. you can probably have your turbo rebuilt for under 250. Don't go with t3/t4s everyone seems to be using them since they are cheap. Spend some nice money on a turbo and it'll be worth it. If youre looking for an ugrade try a GT28RS, GT30R, GT42R, or a hybrid gt30/42R if you feel like making over 550HP with the right mods and proper tuning. Theres a big variety of turbos that was just to name some examples. good Luck

im facing a similar problem w/ one of my rb26 turbos. it was an aftermarket bb turbo. you cannot rebuild bb turbos, unlike conventional ones. only option is to buy a new center housing. chances are if its from garrett of japan, you won't be able to buy a new housing here. garrett distributors wont be able to find the p/n here.

if you must stick with the rb25 turbo...i would say ahve it rebuilt; since the used one, you never know when it'll go out on you.

Nissan doesnt release rebuild kits, center sections, or specs for their turbos. You are stuck with a complete replacement, having the turbo shop but sleeve bearings in your center section, or aftermarket replacement.

those nissan turbos are garrett made (private labeled)....just liek precision turbo or inovative turbo...or the alike, all get their parts from garrett.

the rb25 turbos are just like those garrett's t28...all same the sh-t...send the turbo to Majsetic Turbo and they will rebuild for you. they have fast turn-around-time

http://www.dallasturbo.com tehy rebuild all make and models.

i would just add a few more $ and get a bigger aftermarket turbo...but that's just me.
