With the Top Hat mount kit, does the turbo outlet mate up to an SR downpipe + s13 exhaust without modification?

Also, are there any RB25 aftermarket turbo outlets that are made for s13 SR downpipe/exhaust + steering column clearance?

Syko performance has one, but obviously it's for it's own mount kit.

iirc to use the sr d/p it requires modification to the d/p. You have to chop the 3 bolt flange off, rotate it, then reweld. I don't think it matters what mount kit you have, that SR 3 bolt connector is clocked wrong. hth

Mello is correct. I used an S13-SR20 DP. Cut below the weld on the 3-bolt flange, rotate to fit, tack, verify, weld. done.

Syko kit:"Works with any SR20DET downpipe (not included) for a true bolt on fitment"

Top Hat also has their own downpipe for $150.

I'm going to have someone install it for me (the swap), so I guess I'll ask/have him cut and re-weld the 3-bolt flange if I use the Top Hat kit.

Thanks guys.

Ok, so any ideas on which aftermarket turbo outlet to get?

It works with SR D/P because they made their own custom dump elbow, and pre-clocked the 3 bolt flange to mate with the SR pipe:

Last I checked they don't part out/piece sell the items in their kits (which IMO is foolish) but you should contact them directly to inquire...

$150 is a good price IMO. I just made a custom downpipe for my HKS mani+t3t04e turbo from mild steel, cost $140 in materials plus $175 in fabrication. Might have been cheaper to go with a SR DP then only make a new dump elbow.

The only "outlet" elbow I know of is the SSAC one, and iirc it hit on the steering column on LHD swaps so you might need to massage it...

At least you'll have the funky 6 bolt flange to work with if you decide to make a custom elbow to connect to a SR pipe. PS I have a brand new SSAC elbow for sale if you want it...

Yeah, I figured. I wasn't saying you were wrong or anything, but just posting my options "outloud". I'm still kinda torn between the Syko kit and Top Hat...especially since I'm not the one installing.

Syko kit: $555 with dump pipe (syko outlet + SR downpipe [already have])Top Hat: $300 + $150 downpipe (oem outlet)

Front R33 crossmember is coming with my motorset, either way.

There should be no choice, Syko is a better kit. Especially if you can get it for about the same price as the tophat. I've heard nothing but good things about the Syko kit I think you'll be happy with it...

Tophat kit is crap. I have the Syko elbow, it very high quality. I don't have their mounts though.
