Like it says. I have the rb20 wastegate actuator on right now and it gives me 10 psi. I put on a crappy ebay boost controller and it works but it surges to 12 then drops back down to 10 under full load.

Basically im wondering if theres a better way on adjusting the boost with the stock rb20 wastegate?

Flame on!

If you are willing to spend the coin, just pick up an HKS actuator. Or spend some coin and get a good boost controller. I used an HKS EVC I on my RB20DET Laurel and it worked like a charm. Little clunky and the gain adjustments for High/Low boost are on the back of the unit, but the Manual setting has a knob on the face that works great.

Never had any issues with boost spike, but it did creep once in a while under full load.

If you are just running a standard RB20 with baisc bolt-on's, HKS actuator or a good boost controller are all you really need.

a majority of the problem with the 20/25 turbo not holding boost is the turbo elbow design...the wg dumps into a literall wall and it causes boost to just nose dive.get an upgraded turbo dump elbow and you should be able to boost up to 14psi no worries with an mbc.

any recomendations on a good one? i assume the 99$ ebay ones are crap. I dont want to dump a bunch of money in a down pipe beacause i might end up getting an aftermarket t3t4 setup.

get the $99 ebay one. That way when you upgrade you can use it as a base to start on.

the only way to get perfect wastegate control is with external wastegate........internals will allways have issues due to the size of the port.....get external because if you go to t3t4 later on the external will control the boost on it like a dream
