so whats up guys, i just had an opprotunity to trade some old wheels of mine for a stock T3 turbo off an RB25.... i've done some reasearch, and came up with a few things.... first, it MIGHT be a ball bearing turbo but it also has ceramic impellers that will break under heavy boost.... i have no plans of running heavy boost... maybe 8-10 at best, and roumer has it they fly apart at around 13-14... so i should be good there... here's some of the specs i've found on it...

RB25 turbo specs -

25t comp wheel 48x66comp cover .60 a/rturbine wheel 51x43.5 a/r turbine hsgaround 300hp

thats about all i know.... i don't know much about turbo charging or anything, but i know i'm goals are around 250WHP... and i've read in the KA turbo bible that a T3 is the way to go for this.... just a question guys... the guy wants to trade this weekend for my motegi MR7 17x7 +40 with 40% tread.....so i figured i'd slowly start pieceing my turbo kit together... it also will be coming with a elbow and BOV (ebay BOV.. will replace with a HKS ssqv later on)..... i figure this might be a worthy investment in the first parts of my KA-T build.... and i love how the turbo has "Nissan" across the front, for that OE look... well let me know your thoughts and give me some suggestions... thanks guys, just wanting to know if it's on okay turbo to work with.... see i just don't know about these things.... and the guys has no history on it, says there's minimal to no shaft play (i'm assuming thats the inner turbine assembly) and it's not in bad shape.... so i dunno HALP!!!!!

That turbos fine for your mild build, actually its quite well suited for it. Just dont push more than 14 psi of boost with it or the ceramic blades are a disaster waiting to happen.

Dude.. You want to trade at least 400 dollars worth of rims + with decent tires for a 150 dollar turbo and some random junk? Those are actually not bad looking rims either. Very one sided trade IMO.

i can't sell the wheels, they've been for sale for almost three months... and i'm only asking 300 for em... so a turbo, yeah, just to get the wheels, out but it's not too late to back out of the trade... it hasn't happened yet... i've asked for advice on several forums and hadn't gotten much back....

but you think it's one sided??

I'd ask him for a c note.

Otherwise, ya the turbo should be good for around 250whp at 10psi.

Turbo works for your setup, but the trade seems alittle one sided

Not like it needs to be repeated...

Good turbo, bad trade.

Also...if you can't clock the turbo...don't blame the turbo

I've takin plenty of RB turbo's apart and put them back together...actually if your smart, you'll take the cartridge of one and use the compressor of say a TO4E and make your own BB turbo

seriously IDK I was using under 1/4 turns to jack the thing apart. Checking after every turn to see if the wheel was bound, wasnt, went another 1/8 and crack.... it must just be me...
