I think I read something recently that it can be done, but the engine still needs to be lifted a little bit. Forget where I saw that, so dont take my word for it.

yea its very do able with the engine in.

Disconnect the intercooler pipes, and possibly your radiator upper hose. Pull the driveshaft. Pull the bolts to the transmission mount cross member. The weight of the transmission will tilt the engine back exposing all the bell housing bolts.

This is given that your engine is mounted in a way to allow this type of movement (which it should) and that you have indented your firewall enough for the housing.

You will have to spin the transmission clock wise to pass the starter hump while pulling it out but everything should be apearent when approached.

hey vk you have drop the trans mount, unbolt the engine mounts, with the car on the jacks lift the front of the engine with a cherry picker to get the engine angle high enough so you can get a long extension with a swivel socket and you might have to dent the firewall more with a prybar and the transmission should come out, ive done this 4 times on my car so it is possible.
