I finally got my RB swap up and functional last friday. Took it for a legit cruise to test it out and monitor some things.

Heres the issue I'm having---1st gear falls out with acceleration. 3rd gear will only fall out after boost or acceleration with elapsed time, and 5th gear is somewhat tricky to hit at times-causing me to grind gears. 2nd, 4th and reverse are fine.Auto to 5spd swap. Hardline to Braided line.I have rebled my clutch. I have a new shifter bushing on the way cuz the old one doesnt look very good.I have a centerforce s2 clutch--roughly 7k miles. New 300zx TOB. New TOB sleeve from nissan for the 300zx.

I have contacted the company in regards to this issue since i JUST got it running and we are in the process of trying to figure out areas to address before jumping to the bad trans conclusion. Im really hoping its a component issue and not a trans issue...Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure your shifter boot is oriented the right direction. IIRC it has an arrow which should face forward. If you get it backwards it tugs the shifter back towards neutral a bit. I can't tell you how many times I've seen this happen. Also, I've never dealt with a S-chassis swap before, but make sure the shifter isn't hitting the body of the car. I don't know if they sit in the same place or not.

Big clue is it's only doing it in 1-3-5 gears, not 2-4-R, right?

cut a 2" slit in the top of your lower shift boot.

yeah its just 1-3-5 with the issues.

im going to take all the boots off tomorrow and look. Then i guess its on to splitting the trans and looking at issues with the fork?

Driving this thing around to test afterwards wont hurt anything will it??im a huge fan of being paranoid.

Well guys. I took off my console trim and all the boots minus the small one attached to the shifter and took it for a spin so i could actually have a look at what was going on...

yeah-i feel like an idiot now! No shifter issues now. It fully engages in 1 and 3. 5 is even easier to hit now. Imagine that.. LOL.Im still waiting on my new bushing, but still...it seems to have cleared up my woes.

THANKS A MILLION GUYS!
