I've exploded a few RB25 trannies, but I never made a diagram. Are you just trying to find out where the ball and spring is? If you find a pic of the driver's side of the transmission (actually passenger side for a USDM car) I'll circle it for ya.

Yeah i did everything right, bored the hole out some cuz it was catching... But no dice, car still pops out of third.

What about the ball/spring that goes under the shifter plate shown on page 36? You think i need to check that out?

Hmm, if that ball was indeed catching, that should have been your problem. I wonder if because the ball was catching, the spring got squished or something? If that thing is pushing into the "bump" for it on the shifter rail now because you fixed it, something HAS to be pulling it out. I know you checked it already, but try taking all of the shifter boots off and driving it around the block like that, just to isolate the problem.

Also, try the ball/spring thingy underneath the plate by the shifter too. Easy to get to, so it can't hurt to try.

tried today w/ boots off does the same s***... I added a smaller longer spring in with the ball check spring to add a bit more pressure behind the ballbearing.. yea... It might just be a gear or shifter fork or something.. gay.
