Ok...can any of the completed RB25 guys take a few pics of their ps lines so we can get an idea of what needs to happen? the cost for the mounts driveshaft and ps custom lines may push me to go RB20 instead of 25.

I already made my mind up on getting an engine. My ka24 is gonna die by the time summer temps come back around. so im looking for a lil help on discussing difficulty and prices of things. money is tight. but RB25 is within my grasp.

thanksKev

You should be able to mix and match your existing PS lines with the RB PS lines and get it to work..That is what I did without ANY problems. I will post pics from work tomorrow for you.

excuse my ignorance but I asume that means Power steering lines right? If so, I used mckinney mounts for the motor/transmission and didn't have to disconnect any of the lines on the cross member. All I had to do was hook up the high pressure line and return line to the RB's pump. No modifications necessary. I have the RB25DET in my S13

see this is the reason i asked...cause im still hearing conflicting stories on the PS lines. From last fall some guys were sayin they need to be custom... Now, if custom means to play with em a lil and make em work..then cool!!!

So its safe to say.....You DO NOT have to spend extra money on the power steering lines. JUST MAKE THEM FIT!!! OR with Mckinney mounts on KA cross member the lines can stay...u just hook them up?!

yes... if you use mckinney mounts, the ps lines hook up no problem since your using the stock KA crossmember.

if you are not using mckinney mounts, and sticking with the RB crossmember, then the ps lines will still fit but just need to be bent around a little. OR if you want to be anal and spend more money, you can just put together your own custom lines(ie. all new steel braided lines and fittings).

what about the RB20....should i use the ka or rb cross member?

I guess i really wanna do this with out mounts only cause they are expensive as hell and i would need that extra $1100 for the other stuff to keep the car running. steering rack, new shock and springs. misc stuff for the car. blah...too much stuff goin on.
