How hard would it be to swap in a rb25 with the auto into my j30. All info would be great

I once read in a magazine that doing that type of swap will be too complicated & overkill. But that doesn't mean that it can't be done!! *ahem* Just wouldn't use the stock J30 transmission w/the RB engine; the J30 trans is fragile as China dishes & can't even handle its own VG30DE w/out mods or rebuilding it, let alone a RB25.

the J30 automatic transmissions are only good for around 260hp. if you are contemplating doing a rb25 swap, i believe converting it to a manual also will not be that big of a feat. ive done it to my DD and am approaching 8k miles already since feb 20 and it runs good!

Ive heard of a 300zx owner doing an rb26 swap it it was a lot of custom fabrication just to get it to fit properly.

not gonna deter you from attempting it. just giving you a heads up. hope its your project car and not your DD like mine is or else it is going to be down for a long time.

the J30 automatic transmissions are only good for around 260hp.

Is that 260 HP to the crankshaft or 260 HP to the rear wheels? Just curious.
