rb25 swap

i got a 90 fastback 240sx. i did my reserch and all that stuff for this swap and i still have a few questions. i read that its possible to put the ka trans on the rb20det bellhousing and fit it on the rb20det. and also you can fit the z32 trans on the rb25det housing. but.... can the ka trans w/ the rb25det bell housing so that can fit in the s13 and also can the rb25det bell housing and the z32 trans fit in an s13???? i couldnt find that info. also i will be using the r33 xmember and all that and get my own custom driveshaft.i couldnt find much on the short crank collar issue as far as what they both look like. (long and short)i coulnt find much info on the throttle cable braket.i think that is all the questions so far.sorry for the newb questions but nissans are new to me. i usally stick with german cars but found myself to be at a loss of intrest of those cars

KA trans cannot be mated to RB25, it can be mated to RB20 trans. the RB20 trans (mated or not) does bolt on to a rb25 engine. you can shove any combination in an s13, if you use and rb20 trans your driveshaft will most likely bolt on, if you use a rb25 trans (z32 mated or whatever) you will need a driveshaft

can I ask why you are so concerned with mating different trannys, why not just use whatever trans comes with the motorset you buy.

i was planning on buying a block and starting from nothing. i want to use a usdm trans so it is much easier to find parts for it if i had to rebuild it or make it stronger. find motor parts for an rb seems fairly easy and stuff but trans parts...i havent found anything.

so it is possible to put the z32 trans w/ the rb housing(or custom made housing) into the s13 w/o having to hack too much up and little to no fitment problems?

If you break something in the tran i am pretty sure a z32 guts will go into an rb25 transmission. There are posts the internals look pretty much the same

I have no clue about ka trannies, but an RB20 transmission will most certainly bolt on to an RB25, and I would assume vice versa.
