Ok, Im a former SR guy who wants something a little less ordinary/more exotic with the potential for easier/more ample power.Im assembling a list of things I will need/want for the initial swap into an S13, along with other upgrades. But for now add your input of things you think will make things easier...

RB25det engine setTop Hat Performance mount kitACT or Exedy clutch kitHKS headgasketARP headstudsKoyo radiatorGReddy timing beltaftermarket exh manifoldT3/T4walbro fuel pumpZ32 fuel filter550cc injectors

Things I already have:front mountcat-back exhaustZ32 MAFbattery reloc. kitturbo timerGReddy boost guageHKS bov

I will be making custom piping, a custom driveshaft and either purchasing or fabing an intake plenum.

if you are changing the timing belt... go ahead and change the water pump while you're in there

Man your just on the same road im going down, minus the greddy boost gauge, and HKS BOV becuase i highly dislike anything Greddy and i simplly cannot stand the cliche HKS bov. I am also keeping the stock GT28 ball bearing turbo that came with my motor set and i dont need the HKS kit because this motor has less than 25000 miles on it and can handle good Boost and hp with the stock turbine unit as well as the head studs being pointless.

By the way, stay away from the T3/T4 and go find yourself a nice ball bearing unit.

well im responsiveness whore, and i like ball bearing turbine setups even though they cost a hell of alot more. (The turbo themselves) IE, GT35r GT30 etc etc. Those are actaully alot less responsive than the turbo i have, but T series turbos are old and outdated and that technology has been around since World War two. Ball bearing turbines have a longer life and spin easier.

is it really necessary to change the water pump on an engine thats most likely going to be low mileage?

And on the subject of the HKS bov...Im not going to be using it because I like the sound. Im using it because I bought it from my friend for $50 and they can hold high boost without any leaking problems. It's a good product.

Rather than get a T3/T4 do you guys think I should go with something like a GT2871R?

While Im posting here, where did you guys get your engine sets from. Im trying to decide between Venus or Jazzproparts.com ($2450 shipped). How much does Venus have engine sets for?

One more Edit: What kind of "modifications" will I need to make in the engine bay with my BFH? Firewall?

why don't you go for like a gt3582r?

is that too big?

the water pump and oil pump? just for extra precautions i'm guessing...

i've purchased a engine from venus before...good price and good service...i'm sure you get what you pay for interms of quality and low mileage but they do have good service...will send you anything that is broken...quick too...

that is a daym good price tho...

you should always replace the water pump in my opinion. you just never know what condition the original one is in and how long it will last. My friend didn't do it on his rb25 and a few weeks later was replacing it because it failed.

If you are doing as much as you say on that list obviously cost isn't an issue, so why not.

Just wondering, what is the price on the Nissan N1 water pump (part # 21010-24U27)?

Low mileage does not equal a good motor. I'd change the water pump in case the motor has been sitting or something for awhile (ie recent post with RB25 swap, look at his water pump). I do agree with staying away from the T3/T4, get something like a GT3071 or GT3076, I'm pretty sure those would be nice on an RB25.
