I performed minor mods and engine work to all my cars, this is the first time i ve decided to do a swap. currently i am deciding whether i want to swap in a rb25 or an 2jz engine into my 240sx. In deciding, issues have come up. my only big issue is whether my car will pass emissions once the engine swap is complete. this question is for you guys that actually performed a jddm swap and successfully or unsuccessfully passed emissions test. What is the likelihood of my car passsing emissions? If unsucessful what mechanical steps can i take to transform the engine into one that is compliant (custom--egr,extra vaccum tubing)? I know most car guys can care less but some states will pull your registration. Any response would be appreciated, thanx

search this topic. most of us pay out to someone who can pass us. check your local laws to see if motor swaps are legal, to see if there is a visual portion of the testing and so on. If there is visual inspection, forget it. If the requirements are anywhere near that of CA's, forget it.
