RB25 speed sensor.

When it comes to inspecting the speed sensor what exactly should I look for or do to test if its bad ? I pulled it out tonight and looked it over, it doesn't have any missing teeth on the gears and for all I know it looks like its in great shape. However when I had the PFC in there was not a reading coming from the sensor to the PFC.

Also I found a piece of my bell housing missing that is no bigger than a dime.

im sorry a chunk of your bell housing is MISSING?

and if you hook the VSS to a multimeter and spin it, you will get a voltage reading.

yes, approx a size of a dime. Its not leaking fluid but it got worrying a bit. Something must of hit it.
