well i bought this s14 with the motor already in it. my problem is if i really get on it, my car feels like a ka until about 4 grand, which is when the turbo is finally spooled up it holds boost pretty good after that though. set up:rb25det s2front mountgarret gt2510 w/ hks adjustible actuatorapexi 3"safc neo (untuned)z32 mafgreddy profec b spec 2 (low=8psi, high=12psi)

there are only 3 things that i can think it might be.timingruning leanor blown turbo/ motor

i havent checked my timing yet cause i dont actually own a timing gun so i wanted to see what you guys thought before i bought one

a gt2510 is pretty close to stock but without a tune it still might cause my car to run lean

i checked my intercooler piping and there is alot of oil. i know some is normal but so i got a catch can and there is still alot.

any ideas woudl really be appreciated. thanks

Can you post a pic of your engine bay? I think you are right in thinking that it is spooling up too slowly. A 2510 should zip into boost in no time.

Almost sounds like the seals are blown on it if there's that much oil in your charge pipes.

yea, how are you routing your crankcase vents? Back to the intake? Might have excessive blow by causing oil to show up in you charge pipes.

If not turbo sounds like its...

Do you have a wideband on it? Whats your A/F's look like?

Check all the vitals:

Compression (might find a reason for the blow by if thats the case)Timing (you covered why this wasen't done)Fuel PressureBoost leak checketc.

my vents are going back to the intake yea i can try venting them to the atmosphere but i dont think thats the problem.

compression checked out 160ish on all cylinders

fule pressure is normal i forgot the psi its supposed to be set to but i know its right cause i checked it a few days ago.

i dont think i have a boost leak but its possible ive had a sound from my intake manifold that sounds like a boost leak for a while but i cant find it.

im buying a wideband tonight to check out my afrs.

i had thought it might have been my turbo but i wasnt 100% sure. it does have quite a bit of shaft play and when i get on it some ppl have said they saw smoke from the exhaust... the turbo is only rated to 300 hp and with my mods + 12psi its deffinately supposed to be more than 300..

i just wanna be sure before i buy a new one. and when i do get one i dont want anything to big. cause im not loaded i have the money for a new turbo and thats about it. ive heard you can run a small t3/t4 with stock injectors and a gay safc tune (if you can call it that) on low boost.

anyone know of a way i can tell for sure if its my turbo.

Since you do not have a catch can, the oil in your charge piping is most likely from the valve covers. Installing a catch can or venting it to atmosphere for a while after you clean the piping might give you a better idea of whether the oil seal in the turbo is letting go or if it is okay.

It sounds more and more like a boost leak. Check every fitting and coupler to eliminate the piping and if it is still laggy, get a pressure tester and try to pressurize the system and listen for leaks.

i do have a catch can.. ive already checked over all my pipes and couplers. i was doing that when i found the massive amounts of oil. and its not just oil in my pipes there is some oil in the turbo inlet too thats why i think its probably blown.

Ahh sorry. I missed that last line of your post.

Check the vitals first to make sure those are set properly (timing, ign firing, fuel press., etc.), but it is looking more and more like the turbo has taken a crap on ya.
